3D Resin FAQ: Shipping, Curing, Returns and More
Straight answers about our 3D printing resin, curing, shipping, returns and paint. Everything here is made, tested and supported by us in the USA.
Is 3DRS resin made in the USA?
Yes. We make our 3D printing resin in the USA at our ISO 9001 certified facility in Illinois. You can browse our tabletop resins, Standard HD and industrial resins on the shop.
Are you ISO 9001 certified?
Yes. All of our products are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility. ISO 9001 is an international quality management standard, and we hold our production to it.
What is the cure schedule for HERO HD?
HERO HD can be fully cured with a thermal post cure at 215 to 275°F for a minimum of one hour. UV curing is optional. To get started, we typically recommend a large countertop oven, ideally one with an air fryer feature. See our HERO HD curing guide for the full walkthrough.
Do I have to UV cure HERO HD?
No. UV curing is optional with HERO HD. The thermal cure at 215 to 275°F for a minimum of one hour is what drives the deeper cure, so UV can be added if you like but it is not required.
How hard is HERO HD?
HERO HD Merchant Grey and Flesh are Shore D 77. The other HERO HD colors, including Light Grey, Pearl White, Sienna and Medium Grey, are Shore D 79 to 83.
Which resin should I buy for tabletop miniatures?
Choose HERO HD when you want the toughest, most flexible minis for real gameplay. Choose RPG Medium Grey for an affordable, non brittle ABS style resin. Choose Standard HD for high detail models at a value price. Our side by side guide compares all three.
Which printers work with your resins?
HERO HD works with 365 nm, 395 nm and 405 nm light engines. Standard HD is made for DLP, LCD and mSLA printers, including 2k to 14k+ mono screen printers. RPG is tuned for most mono screen printers. Calibrate any new resin with our Starship test.
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping is free on orders of $44 or more in the lower 48 states. All others are calculated at checkout.
What is your return policy?
We offer 30 day returns on any unopened containers. Email info@3dresinsolutions.com before you send anything back so we can give you a return authorization number. The full terms are on our refund policy.
What is InstantEffect?
InstantEffect is our water based acrylic for painting miniatures, busts and terrain. It gives color and shade in one coat. Single 30 ml bottles are $9.95 each in the InstantEffect collection.
How do I paint with InstantEffect?
The 10 color box set supports three methods. SlapChop: dry brush with DryBrush White first, then apply InstantEffect. Contrast: paint directly onto the print, and blend in the white to make traditional colors like flesh tones. Airbrush: spray InstantEffect undiluted without clogging.
Can you match a custom color or make a custom resin?
Yes. In many cases. Our lab will create a specific color formula or match a brand color for HERO resins. See our custom color ordering page. For custom resin formulations, we also work with business customers, so contact us with your application.
