Process

From vat to finished part

  1. Step 1

    Print

Works with 365, 395 and 405 nm light engines.Dial in with our Starship calibration test.

  2. Step 2

    Clean

Agitate in high purity IPA or Rhino Resin Cleaner for no more than 10 to 15 minutes. Skip acetone.

  3. Step 3

    Dry

Let the part dry completely so it cures evenly.

  4. Step 4

    Cure with UV or heat

Standard UV cure, or heat at 215 to 275°F for a minimum of one hour.

UV cure

  • Standard UV cure in the curing station you already use.
  • Wash with high purity IPA or Rhino Resin Cleaner and let parts dry first.

Heat cure

  • 215 to 275°F for a minimum of one hour.
  • Tip: a large countertop oven with an air fryer feature works well. The moving air heats parts evenly.

About HERO HD Sienna

The Table Gamers' Resin™, and a whole lot more

Download the TDS Sheet HERE

HERO HD is our tough tabletop resin. We made it for minis, terrain and gaming pieces where durability, flex and surface quality matter just as much as looks. It's built to take real gameplay, like handling, drops, transport and repeated use, without giving up crisp detail or printability.

Post light curing is optional. You can cure HERO HD with UV or heat. For heat, run it at 215 to 275°F (135°C) for at least one hour. A large countertop oven from any big box store does the job, ideally one with an air fryer feature, since it heats parts evenly.

Why heat? A thermal cure drives a deeper cure through the part. That improves toughness, dimensional stability and long term consistency. In short, parts hold up better to stress and creep, you get more margin for repeated handling, and they behave more predictably over time. (Read more about thermal curing here)

The mechanical side is well balanced. Weapons, fingers and thin walls flex instead of snapping. Elongation runs 30 to 35%, and a Shore D hardness of 79 to 83 keeps cured prints solid and stable. It feels substantial in your hand and holds up over time.

HERO HD prints cleanly on 365, 395 and 405 nm printers. Viscosity sits in the middle at 550 to 650 cP, so it flows reliably, holds sharp detail and builds consistent layers, even on busy, tightly packed builds. A heat post cure at 135°C brings out its full mechanical performance and strong work to break values.

  • Built for tabletop miniatures and gaming pieces

  • Tough parts with some flex, so they resist snapping and cracking

  • Excellent surface detail and paint adhesion

  • Works with 365 to 405 nm printers

  • Low shrinkage for accurate, repeatable results

Beyond tabletop gaming

Because it's so well balanced, HERO HD also works well for:

  • Functional prototypes that need durability without brittleness

  • Snap fit and press fit parts

  • Protective housings and covers

  • Jigs, fixtures and shop aids

  • Consumer product prototypes

  • Educational and demo models

  • General production where toughness and repeatability matter

Storage and use
1. Store it somewhere cool and dark, between 18 and 28°C. Keep the container out of the light so the resin doesn't get light contaminated.
2. Keep it out of direct sunlight while you work.
3. Shake well before use.
4. After printing, clean your prints in high purity IPA or Rhino Resin Cleaner.
5. Use it at 18 to 28°C.

Exposure and handling notes

  • Description: Risk of irritation or adverse effects with direct exposure. Inhalation risk with prolonged or repeated exposure. High misting hazard (breathing in mist).
  • Handling: Nitrile gloves and goggles, plus a vapor mask if you're handling it for a long time. Adequate ventilation required.
  • Best for: Experienced users with the right equipment and ventilation.

Common questions

What printers does it work with?
HERO HD Sienna prints on resin printers that use 365, 395 or 405 nm light. Viscosity is 550 to 650 cP, so it flows well and holds sharp detail.

Is it good for minis that get handled a lot?
Yes, that's what we built it for. Minis and terrain get handled, dropped and carried to games. With 30 to 35% elongation and a cured hardness of Shore D 79 to 83, weapons, fingers and other thin parts flex instead of snapping.

How do I cure it?
Post light curing is optional. You can cure HERO HD with UV or heat. For heat, run your parts at 215 to 275°F for at least one hour. A large countertop oven from any big box store does the job, ideally one with an air fryer feature, since it heats parts evenly.

How do I clean prints?
Use high purity IPA or Rhino Resin Cleaner. That gets you a smooth, tack free surface.

Is it made in the USA?
Yes. We make HERO HD in South Elgin, Illinois, USA, in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility.

Does shipping cost extra?
You get free Standard shipping in the lower 48 on orders of $44 and up. Smaller orders, and anything going outside the lower 48, pay the rate shown at checkout.
